This is an intriguing piece - a beautiful and fine quality handmade vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner with an usual design. Hand-knotted in the 1980s, the rug was made with fine craftsmanship and quality wool and natural dyes. It is in perfect condition though it has an irregular pattern and color progression. The allover repeating intricate paisley (known as boteh, a fertility sign) design has a constantly shifting color palette as the natural dyes change throughout the rug. This is known as abrash, the natural variation of dyes in handmade vintage rugs. It adds to the rug's one of a kind handmade unique nature -- and makes for a great price! The boteh paisleys are shades of lemonade or ballet slipper pink with white and cornflower and powder blue accents, along with midnight blue and plum. the combinations shift throughout the rug, as the rug's backdrop shifts from deep red to a watermelon pink. The runner is ramed by a beautiful thick ribbon of white and its repeating intricate geometric motifs that resemble hieroglyphics in all of the rug's colors, bordered by thin rows of lemonade pink and cornflower blue. Perfect for high traffic areas, this runner has a thick, supple pile and will be soft underfoot. It is sturdy and will last generations. Size: 4'x11'6"
