This vintage handmade fine quality Russian Turkeman accent rug was hand-knotted by expert tribal weavers with superior craftsmanship.  This rug has a thin, soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last generations. The high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) creates precise details throughout. This allover geometric design is incredibly intricate, with the details unfolding as you look closer.   The muted, beautifully aged colors of this rug have that patina that only comes from vintage handmade rugs that use natural dyes.  The chocolate and black coffee background colors provide a dramatic setting for the highly detailed repeating motifs hand-knotted in pink coral, emerald green, stone, white, and turquoise, all colors made from only natural dyes.  The rows of repeating interconnected diamond medallions decorated with tiny tribal motifs that run down the center of the rug are bordered by layers upon layers of complementary smaller motifs -- a phenomenal display of tribal artistry with endless intricate geometric details in the same muted and hard-to-find colors.  The details are mesmerizing and you'll get lost in the patterns.   Note that this rug has an area of abrash (see photos).
