This vintage handmade Persian Koliai could also be used as a "gallery size" runner in a large hallway or entryway, in front of a couch or bed. The chic small repeating diamond pattern of sand and ivory is delineated with emerald green and midnight blue lines and punctuated with small red and orange flowers.  This creates the backdrop for a colorful central floral medallion with intricate tribal details, echoed in the rug's brilliant corners and charming border.  The tribal flower in full bloom at the center of the rug is hand-knotted in pomegranate red with sky blue, heather gray, orange, lemonade pink, hunter green, midnight blue, mauve and cherry red.   These colors are echoed in the bold geometric corners with whimsical geometric flower details.  The border is another decorative element to the rug, a thick ribbon of royal blue  framed by green and red, with a geometric flower repeat in all of the rug's many colors. The final edge of the rug adds even more charming interest - small colorful circles dot the rug's white kilim edges.  Hand-knotted in the 1970's, this rug has areas of light distress. There is color running in several places and the rug is not perfectly straight on one end (see photos).  The rug has a notably thick and soft pile that is cushy underfoot, can withstand high traffic and will last generations. All colors are made with only natural dyes.  Size: 5'x9'2"
