Distressed antique 1930's handmade Turkish Sparta. Traditional geometric & floral design with intricate details. The sapphire border provides a beautiful frame for the gold and rust backgrounds that lead to the sapphire central medallion. The abundant floral and vine motifs are hand-knotted in incredible colors that only come from the vegetable and other natural dyes -- muted shades of sea foam and mint green, powder blue, peach, pink, ivory, and countless other colors. These colors have that unique patina that only comes from antique handmade rugs. This rug was hand-knotted in Turkey in the 1930's and is distressed with low pile in several areas (see photos) and a lightly distressed fringe. There are no holes, tears, or patches.
