This rug is made with fine craftsmanship and quality wool.  The allover geometric design is a hallmark of contemporary Oushak rugs, derived from antique Turkish Oushak designs that date back to the Ottoman Empire.  This Oushak has a bright, happy and rather unique modern color palette.  The series of three large medallions that run down the center of the runner are cranberry and ivory with accents in sapphire, indigo, salmon pink, gold, white, peach, coffee and purple. The bright pistachio green backdrop has small tribal motifs that echo the medallions in style and colors. The border is a particularly decorative feature of the rug, a thick cranberry frame adorned with small repeating tribal motifs in shell pink, peach and shades of blue, surrounded by rows of white and peach with small repeating motifs in more of the rug's accent colors.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.
