This is a spectacular piece and one of the finest in our collection.  It is a stunning top quality vintage palace size Persian Sarough, hand-knotted in the 1960's and in mint condition.  The traditional floral and medallion design is hand-knotted with superior craftsmanship using the finest quality wool for a supple, soft and full dense pile that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last for generations.  The intricate geometric and flower designs are hand-knotted in elegant shades of fruit punch pink and sapphire blue on a rich midnight blue background. The central medallion is a spectacular ivory flower with intricate floral and vine motifs in soft and muted shades of pink and green: sage, mint, raspberry pink, teal, crimson and countless others.  These same accent colors appear throughout the rug, forming an intricate repeating small flower and lattice-like design in countless colors made from only natural dyes.  The ivory corners echo the medallion and have similarly hued flowers and leaves in perfect symmetry, leading the eye to the border.  Ivory and sapphire blue rows of tiny colorful flowers frame the rustic red border with its delicate garland of repeating flowers on the vine in all of the rug's colors.  The photos do not do the rug justice -- zoom in on the close-ups to get the best sense of the incredible design and color palette.  Size: 10'2"x17'8"
