This stunning antique Persian Heriz is over 100 years old and in excellent condition. The intricate tribal details are hand-knotted in vibrant, rich colors made from only vegetable dyes. This rug was handmade in the 1920's in the classic bold geometric Heriz pattern that is still copied today by contemporary rug-weavers and sought after by designers and collectors. The prominent central medallion is a hallmark of this regional design. What brings this rug to life is the incredible array of details and the remarkably vivid colors that have the unique patina that only comes from antique vegetable dyes. Teal (a very rare and beautiful color for these rugs), royal blue, cherry red, Tiffany blue, rose coral, pale gold, sapphire blue and azure blue are highlighted with white throughout, most notably in the central flower and the rug's corners. This is an extremely fine quality rug with a soft pile made from fine quality wool. It can withstand high traffic and will continue to last generations. The midnight blue border brings the rug together perfectly, echoing all of the accent colors in a garland of geometric lotus flowers on the vine. This is truly a top quality knockout oriental rug that is sure to make a statement in any room. Size: 6'2"x9'3"
