This is a unique and fine quality handmade vintage tribal Persian Turkeman runner.  Made of fine quality soft lambs wool, this rug has a full, thick pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations.  The geometric and tribal allover design is a series of ivory octagonal medallions that run down the black runner's center, and a series of red half-medallions that run down either side for a bold, dramatic effect.  The design in each medallion is a tribal bouquet of flowers in rich primary shades of bright red, golden yellow and bright sapphire with black and white accents.  The bouquets seem to burst from the rug with their rich colors and bold designs.  Hand-knotted by expert village weavers using only vegetable and other natural dyes, the rug's border is a perfect compliment to the runner, using the same vibrant colors in tiny small repeating tribal motifs.  Note the tiny dotted flowers in yellow and white, resting on silver and blue stems, framed by thin black stripes.  This runner is a great bargain because it has imperfections that only add to its charming one of a kind handmade nature. The corners have minor distress, one end of the runner is slightly curved, and there is one small area where pink dye is used instead of red. See last photo for close-up.   Size:  3'4"x9'1"
