This handmade fine quality vintage Persian Turkeman accent rug/scatter rug can also be used as a tapestry or wall hanging, or draped over a chair or couch.  Made of fine quality soft lambs wool, this rug has a full pile that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last generations.  The geometric and tribal allover design is known as a ram's horn motif, a common pattern for rugs from this region, hand-knotted by village weavers using only natural dyes.  What is unusual and special about this rug is its brilliant colorful accents.  The allover design is woven in intricate detail in turquoise, lemon yellow, mocha, sea green, white and crimson with lilac purple surrounding each medallion and creating the ram's horns, all on an elegant muted copper sand colored background.  Note the beautiful border of flowers and vines in all the colors of the rug on an ivory frame, adding bright orange to the colors.  The fringes run along the length of the rug rather than the width - a rather unique and charming feature.
