This is a distressed handwoven antique Persian Shirvan rug or runner that dates back to the early 1900's. The tribal and geometric design is typical of Shirvans from this era, but difficult to find today. Interestingly enough, the pattern is also reminiscent of Native American motifs. What is striking about this rug are the muted jewel tones, all made from vegetable and other natural dyes. Rust, indigo, yellow, lime green, midnight blue, and olive green are all highlighted by black and ivory accents. The rug also has a charming colorful border. Size: 3'3"x6'2"
