This vintage fine quality Persian Shiraz Qashqai runner has spectacular tribal details and brilliant colors. It was handmade in the 1980's and has an incredibly thick and soft pile that you can sink your feet into.  The striking geometric design has a highly detailed pattern of charming small colorful geometric paisleys known as 'botehs', the ancient tribal precursor to the paisley.  A lush carpet of royal blue creates the canvas, encircled by a bright red architectural frame which is in turn bordered by a series of colorful repeating botehs and small geometric motifs.  Five ivory diamond medallions are at the center of the rug, adorned by colorful small motifs and surrounded by the tiny paisleys that jump from the rug in a rich array of vibrant colors that look like so many candies good enough to eat!  The accent colors cover the full spectrum, from crimson, orange, azure blue, emerald green, and hunter green, to coral, ivory, taupe, silver and so many others.   The charming border is a series of thin rows of botehs and other small motifs that brings together all of the colors of the rug in a beautiful harmonious finish.  All the colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. The runner's minor imperfection, which makes this rug a great bargain, is in one corner of the rug where the paisleys are imperfect - see last photo for details. This adds to the rug's charm and one of a kind handmade authenticity.
