Yellow Flowers

This is a beautiful and fine quality vintage handmade Persian Shiraz Qashqai Kilim rug that can also be used as a wide and long runner. It's hand-knotted in beautiful rustic earth tones made of only vegetable and other natural dyes.  This size is known as "gallery size" - large enough to be used as an area rug, while still long and narrow enough to be used in a wide hallway or foyer as a wide runner. The allover contemporary striped design is full of intricate tribal and geometric motifs in finely knotted details, many of which represent natural elements such as lakes or mountains. Note for example the ram's horn motif (resembles a capital "T"), a common element of rug's from the Qashqai tribe in the Shiraz region of Iran, as the animal is essential to their way of life.   Golden yellow, bone, caramel and royal blue alternate in  stripes and diamonds, diagonals, small "x" motifs and more, with a single teal stripe at the border on one end.  Flat weave and therefore very thin pile, also a signature feature of Kilim rugs, this rug is still great for high traffic areas and will last generations. It was handmade in the 1980s and it is mint condition, save for one corner's patch, which adds a truly one-of-a-kind handmade element to the rug. See last photo for detail. This minor imperfection is what makes this gorgeous rug such a great deal!  Size: 5'7"x11'9"
