The high quality wool is soft underfoot and the superior craftsmanship and high knot count (or knots per square inch/KPSI) make for vivid and precise details hand-knotted on a lush bright red open field. A central medallion of three ivory tribal diamonds resting within a larger geometric royal blue frame is the focal point of the rug.  Smaller diamonds of red, blue, green and gold are nested within the larger diamonds, surrounded by geometric "feet"in chocolate, midnight blue and copper. The elegant and dramatic red open field leads to a charming border with all of the rainbow colors of the rug in a repeating design that resembles a chain of origami cranes.
