This vintage fine quality Persian Shiraz Qashqai rug has spectacular tribal details and brilliant colors. It was handmade in the 1980's and is in truly mint condition.  The striking allover leaf-like geometric pattern is enhanced by stunning intricate tribal details along the border. This is a high quality rug, hand-knotted by expert tribal weavers with fine lambswool that gives it a soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The allover motif is deceptive.  From afar, it appears to be simply red and blue, while up close, the jewel tones become apparent -- crimson and royal blue are the primary repeating leaves, interspersed with sapphire and tangerine paisley-like motifs known as botehs, the ancient tribal precursor to paisleys.  Midnight blue and emerald green botehs alternate with the others, and small motifs with accents in burgundy, black, white, lime green and charcoal are also a part of the design. The pattern really pops against the ivory background. The border of this rug is truly spectacular with an ivory row of small paisleys and geometric stars and flowers in all the rainbow colors of the rug, framed by two crimson rows of tiny colorful flowers on the vine.  All of the colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. This piece has a very modern and contemporary feel and its versatile size will make a stylish addition to any room.  Size: 5'4"x7'2"
