This vintage handmade tribal and nomadic Persian Serab runner was hand-knotted in the 1980s. It is made of fine quality wool with a thick, sturdy and soft full pile that is great for high traffic and will continue to last generations.  The runner is slightly distressed, which is why it is on sale for such a great price.  It has color running in some areas of the border (see last photos for close ups), but other than that it is in perfect condition and remarkably thick and soft underfoot. The bold geometric medallion pattern is hand-knotted in bright strawberry red with orange centers on a beautiful royal blue backdrop. Small geometric floral motifs that look like small colorful candies form three rows along the length of the runner and dot the centers of the medallions in white, orange, bubble gum pink and red.  A favorite detail is the red exotic bird in the center of the rug.  The orange border and final red frame pull the whole piece together, dotted with small flowers and tribal designs.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.
