This is a fine quality vintage handmade Persian Senneh in mint condition.  It is full of intricate tribal, floral and geometric motifs on a dramatic black background for a very elegant effect.  There are three interconnected diamond medallions (hallmarks of the Senneh design) that span the length of the rug and rest on the black backdrop.  The central diamond is the color of sand, framed by two denim blue diamonds.  Each one is hand-knotted with small flowers and other small and delicate motifs. The sand medallion has primarily hunter green and burnt orange with black accents, and the blue medallions have ruby pink and chocolate with sand accents.  The black surrounding open field leads to the rustic red background that fills the next layer of the rug before the border.  This red surrounding layer is hand-knotted with similar patterns of small, delicate motifs, primarily in teal, chocolate, sand and rust.  The final frame is the spectacular border with its black backdrop and beautiful repeating geometric design in all of the colors of the rug, which are all made from only natural dyes. The final edge of the rug is blue with a charming small flower repeat in ruby pink.  This fine vintage piece has a thin even pile that is sturdy and can withstand high traffic.
