This handmade fine quality vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner has an allover repeating intricate paisley (known as boteh, an ancient tribal precursor to the paisley) design.  Each individual paisley, or boteh, is made up of tiny knots of white, charcoal, silver and sapphire, details that become more apparent as you get closer to the rug, much like a pointillist painting. The pale salmon pink background is a beautiful compliment to the sapphire blue.  The border is particularly striking and intriguing - an ivory frame of intricate pink, blue and charcoal geometric details that almost resemble hieroglyphics.  This is surrounded by thin rows of sapphire with a repeating white motif that resembles small hearts.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  This runner has some minor imperfections but is perfectly intact and great quality.  The bindings have a few spots of discoloration and there are a few minor imperfections in the pattern (see last photo). These slight irregularities add to the authentic one of a kind nature of the runner, and also make it a great price.  Size:  3'11"x10'7"
