This is a fine quality handmade vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner with a few small areas of distress. The rug was made with fine craftsmanship and fine quality wool. The allover repeating intricate and small paisley (known as boteh) design is made of pale ballet slipper pink, ivory, midnight blue, and Tiffany blue, all resting beautifully on a soft red backdrop.   What makes this runner unique for a Sarough Mir is its border with an abundant row of elegant flowers and vines on sapphire, framed by thin geometric ribbons of ivory and Tiffany blue.  The flowers are hand-knotted in the same beautiful shades of pink, red and blue.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  Perfect for high traffic areas, this runner has a thick, supple pile and will be soft underfoot.  It will last generations.  The distressed areas are along the very edge of the border in a few places.
