This handmade fine quality vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner was hand-knotted in the 1980s and is in mint condition. The allover repeating intricate paisley (known as boteh) design is made up of a remarkable variety of colors for such a tiny motif - as you get up close you'll see shell pink, white, pale mint green, ballet slipper pink, pale sky blue and black on a lush red background that is a delicious mix of strawberry and cherry in what is known as abrash, the natural variation that occurs in handmade vintage rugs made with vegetable dyes. The border is a thick ivory ribbon, framed by midnight blue. The intricate and intriguing geometric details of the border are hand-knotted in all of the above pastel colors, all of which are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. This runner is perfect for high traffic areas and anywhere you want to add color and softness underfoot. It has an extremely soft, thick pile that you can sink your feet into and will last generations.
