Yellow Flowers

This handmade fine quality vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner from the 1980s is in mint condition.  The allover repeating intricate paisley (known as boteh, an ancient tribal precursor to the paisley) design is made up of tiny knots of sapphire and royal blue, white and shell pink, all on a luscious strawberry red background.  The details in the rug are very fine and precise because of the high knot count and fine craftsmanship. The colors seem to pop out of the rug. The border is a striking complement to the allover paisley design - a white frame that lightens and brightens the runner with an intricate geometric repeating motif that resembles hieroglyphics, all hand-knotted in the same rich colors of the runner.  The border is surrounded by red and blue rows of small colorful geometric motifs.  Note that the rug has a tassled fringe on one end and a straight edge on the other, not uncommon for Persian rugs.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  This runner is perfect for high traffic areas and anywhere you want to add color and softness underfoot.  It is extremely fine quality and has a noticeably soft, thick, cushy pile that will last generations.  Size:  3'8"x10'4"
