This handmade fine quality vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner from the 1980s is in mint condition. The allover repeating intricate paisley (known as boteh, an ancient precursor to the paisley) design is made up of tiny knots of sapphire, teal, dusty rose, shell pink, white, gray, silver and lavender on a bright strawberry red background. The border is particularly striking and intriguing - an ivory frame that lightens and brightens the runner, full of intricate geometric details that almost resemble hieroglyphics. They are woven in the same accent colors as the botehs, with teal as a more prominent color, and surrounded by rows of azure blue with repeating chevrons in teal, pink and white. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. This runner is perfect for high traffic areas and anywhere you want to add color and softness underfoot. This rug is fine quality and has a noticeably soft thick pile that will last generations. Size: 4'x11'
