This is a fine quality handmade vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner in mint condition with several unique and stunning features. The rug was made with fine craftsmanship and fine quality wool, which gives it a full sturdy pile that is great for high traffic areas and will last generations. The allover repeating intricate and small paisley design is known as a boteh design, the ancient tribal precursor to today's paisley. In this rug, the botehs are made of red (the rug's background color) along with a deep royal blue, ivory, tangerine and inky midnight blue. These small paisleys create a carpet of repeating intricate motifs. What makes this runner unique are the corners and the border. The midnight blue corners have larger more contemporary paisleys in the same colors, leading your eye to the stunning border, an abundant row of larger geometric flowers and leaves on the vine. These flowers rest on an ivory backdrop, which really makes them pop and showcases the colors of the rug, especially orange and royal blue. This is surrounded by royal blue rows of flowers on the vine on either side, before the rug's final red binding. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Size: 3'7"x10'5"
