This handmade charming vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner was hand-knotted in the 1980s and is in mint condition.  The allover repeating intricate tribal paisley (known as boteh, the ancient tribal precursor to the modern paisley) design from afar appears to be black and white, but much like a pointillist painting, when you get closer, it is actually made up of individual knots of silver, black, white, yellow, bright pink, and sapphire blue, twinkling on a rich cherry red background.  The corners and border are particularly striking and playful - a white backdrop lightens and brightens the runner and frames it in an intricate and intriguing geometric design of tribal figures, buildings, plants and flowers in all the accent colors of the paisleys.  Note the row of tiny pale pink, red and black flowers that provide an edge before the border, and the rows of silver and pink repeating motifs that surround the border. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  This runner is perfect for high traffic areas and anywhere you want to add color and softness underfoot.  This rug is fine quality and has a soft thick pile that will last generations.
