This handmade fine quality vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner from the 1980s is in mint condition. The allover repeating intricate paisley (known as boteh, an ancient tribal precursor to the paisley) design is made up of tiny knots of Tiffany blue, midnight blue, ecru and copper, resting on a lush strawberry red background. The rug was hand-knotted with fine craftsmanship by expert tribal weavers. The border is particularly striking and intriguing - an ecru frame that brightens and lightens the rug, made up of intricate colorful geometric details that almost resemble hieroglyphics. They are woven in the same colors as the runner, surrounded by Tiffany blue rows of small red and ecru geometric motifs. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. This runner is perfect for high traffic areas and anywhere you want to add color and softness underfoot. This fine quality wool has a noticeably soft and thick pile that will last generations. Size: 3'9"x9'11"
