This handmade fine quality vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner from the 1980s is in mint condition. The allover repeating intricate paisley (known as boteh, an ancient tribal precursor to the paisley) design is made up of tiny knots of shell pink, sapphire and royal blue, moss green and white, all on a lush watermelon red background. The details in the rug are very fine and precise because of the high knot count and fine craftsmanship. The border is particularly striking and intriguing - a royal blue frame of intricate colorful geometric details that almost resemble hieroglyphics. They are woven in the same colors as the runner, surrounded by ivory and azure blue rows of small colorful geometric motifs. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. This runner is perfect for high traffic areas and anywhere you want to add color and softness underfoot. This runner is fine quality and has a noticeably soft and thick pile that will last generations. Note the one of a kind handmade nature of the pattern, as the paisleys are not always in perfectly straight lines.
