This handmade fine quality vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner from the 1980s is in mint condition.  The allover repeating intricate paisley (known as boteh, an ancient tribal precursor to the paisley) design is made up of tiny knots of sapphire blue, violet blue,  goldenrod, lime green,  bubble gum pink and white on a tomato red background.  The border is particularly striking and intriguing - an ivory frame of intricate colorful geometric details that almost resemble hieroglyphics. They are woven in the same bright colors, surrounded by thin rows of sapphire blue with small colorful geometric motifs and edged with white and lime green.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  This runner is perfect for high traffic areas and anywhere you want to add color and softness underfoot.  This rug is fine quality and has a noticeably soft thick pile that will last generations. Note the thin leather straps sewn on the back of the runner to keep it in place - a sign of quality for rugs from Iran.  Size:  3'6"x10'
