This is a beautiful and fine quality handmade vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner, hand-knotted in the 1980s and in mint condition. The allover repeating paisley (known as boteh, an ancient precursor to paisley) design is pale peach, coral and turquoise resting beautifully on the lush sapphire blue backdrop, a rich color that appears royal blue depending on the light. All of this is bordered by a coral stripe of intricate repeating tribal details that appear almost like hieroglyphics, framed by thin ribbons of colorful small geometric motifs. The borders really show off the coral, turquoise, peach and blue, adding white, copper, shell pink and sky blue to the mix. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Perfect for high traffic areas, this runner has a thick, supple pile that will be soft underfoot and last generations. Size: 3'5"x10'1"
