This is a beautiful and very fine quality handmade vintage Persian Sarough Mir runner, hand-knotted in the 1980s and in mint condition. The craftsmanship, quality of wool and quality of dyes is quite high, and the fine wool has a sheen in the light. The allover repeating intricate paisley (known as boteh) design is made of pale pink, ivory, midnight blue and azure blue, all resting beautifully on a soft strawberry red - almost watermelon red - backdrop. Framed by a beautiful thick ribbon of borders in elegant shades of sapphire, ballet slipper pink, ivory and watermelon red in intricate geometric and flower details. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Perfect for high traffic areas, this runner has a thick, supple pile and will be soft underfoot. It will last generations.
