This is an elegant vintage handmade fine quality Persian Sarough Mahal runner, a symphony in blues and pinks.  Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this runner is in mint condition with a thick, and sturdy pile that is soft underfoot.  It is made with fine quality wool, can withstand high traffic areas easily and will last generations.  The allover design is a geometric and floral lattice-like pattern with highly detailed small flowers and tribal motifs that fill the rug with color and pattern. The beautiful backdrop is a rich violet blue. The azure blue and ballet slipper pink lattice-like design provides a subtle frame for the abundant details hand-knotted throughout in carnation pink, rose pink, coral, shell pink, azure blue, sapphire, sky blue, pale khaki green and white. The watermelon pink border is framed by thin rows of azure blue, all with elegant flower and vine designs in the same beautiful blues and pinks as the rug.
