This is a beautiful fine quality vintage blue violet  Persian Sarough Mahal runner that was hand-knotted in the 1980s and is in mint condition.  Great for high traffic areas, this elegant floral runner is handmade with a notably thick, soft, supple pile and a sturdy weave that will last for generations.  The colors of this runner are really spectacular, and all made with vegetable and other natural dyes.  It is a flower garden in full bloom, a highly detailed pattern of tiny flowers around a lattice-like motif, hand-knotted in carnation pink and lemonade pink, magenta, Tiffany blue, turquoise, grass green, aquamarine, sapphire, spearmint, gold, silver and countless other colors.  The magenta corners have their own matching motif, and the delicate bone-colored diamond medallion at the center shows off all of these accent colors in its tiny floral and geometric motifs.  The border is another wonderful feature of the rug, with a charming garland of small pink flowers on the vine, framed by pink and green and champagne colored rows of tiny geometric repeating motifs., finished off with a thick blue border.  Size: 3'11"x10'8"
