This is an elegant and versatile vintage handmade fine quality Persian Sarough Mahal runner.  Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this runner is in mint condition with a notably thick, soft, full pile made from fine quality wool that can withstand high traffic areas and will continue to last for generations.   The intricate repeating floral and vine motifs in vivid colors create an allover design on the lush backdrop of pomegranate red.  The details are knotted by hand in a beautiful array of blues and pinks: periwinkle blue, royal blue, sky blue, midnight blue, shell pink, dusty rose, fern green and sand, all punctuated by bright white.  The ivory border lightens and brightens the runner, with an elegant complementary floral and vine motif in all of the colors of the runner, framed by thin rows of periwinkle blue with tiny geometric motifs.
