This is a very fine quality handmade vintage Persian Sarough Lilihan runner. Its floral design is based on antique rug designs from the Sarouk(gh) region, and it was hand-knotted with incredibly rich colors made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Handmade in the 1980s, this runner is made with fine quality wool that has a sheen to it in the light, and it is in mint condition.  The rug's intricate floral sprays fill the muted red open field, revolving around a delicate series of central floral bouquets and a beautiful medallion, all of which are framed by colorful and charming ribbons of beautiful small flowers on midnight blue, khaki and white backdrops.  The elegant, crisp floral sprays are hand-knotted in an incredible array of rich, vibrant colors - bright cerulean blue really pops against the red, along with midnight blue, turquoise, teal, aquamarine, sage green, taupe, copper, shell pink and countless other colors, punctuated by white for a dramatic effect.  This runner is handmade with a full, soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations.  It is a very special and elegant piece.  Size: 3'5"x11'3"
