Truly unique and stunning vintage 1960's handmade Persian Sarough. This rug is very fine quality, made with high quality wool and extremely fine craftsmanship as well as a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch), as evidenced by the detailed designs hand-knotted throughout. The rug has some light distress with a few areas of low pile. The allover floral and vine design is a traditional pattern that is also timeless, often described as Victorian. The muted jewel tone colors have the unique patina that only handmade antique rugs have when they're made with vegetable and other natural dyes. A watermelon background and the midnight blue border are elegant with their floral sprays in sapphire, azure, gold, peach, ivory, sea green, teal, salmon, rust and countless other colors. The border is particularly unique in its abundance - the flowers are in full bloom covering the entire ribbon around the rug. Size: 10'x14'
