This museum-quality rug is known as an antique Persian Sarough Farahan.  It dates back to the late 1800s and is in excellent condition. Hand-knotted in the city of Sarough, this type of rug is in high demand and of extremely fine quality.  The rare color palette is unique, bright and beautiful -- a veritable spring garden with orange and green as the dominant tones, made from vegetable and other natural dyes. The intricate floral design with a stunning central medallion is made with a high knot count (KPSI, knots per square inch) which makes for a spectacular piece.  The rug has an even low pile throughout.  Size: 3'9"x6'1"
