This is a unique and stunning handmade distressed Persian Sarough Farahan, woven circa 1850. This antique has an even low pile and muted colors made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Farahan is a region in west central Iran known for creating some of the finest Persian rugs ever made. Note the highly ornamented medallion and the fine floral motifs that are as delicate as drawings. This rug is particularly rare because of its dominant blue and green color palette, made of midnight blue, indigo, sage and teal with cranberry accents. The fringe is fragile and needs repair and there are slight areas of distress in the rug. No holes, tears or patches. Size: 4'x6'6"
