This exquisite antique distressed 1960's handmade Persian Sarough is a unique find in gallery size. The allover Victorian floral bouquet traditional Sarough design is truly a timeless classic.   Both the border and the open field are decorated with abundant and elegant floral sprays in symmetrical patterns in true jewel tones that sparkle in the light, nested on a lush magenta background.   Hand-knotted in sapphire, gold, teal, pale yellow, indigo, mint green, sea green, rose, fuchsia and countless other colors, the flowers come alive in their elegant details.  These rich yet muted colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes and have that unique patina that only comes from antique handmade natural dyes.  This rug was hand-knotted in the 1960's and has a few areas of low pile along with distressed fringes and bindings. The rug is completely intact and has a worn, well-loved appeal that does not need repair.  This unique size, often referred to as gallery size, is perfect for foyers, entrances, and other long and narrow spaces, such as in front of a couch or a bed.   Size: 6'x11'2"
