This stunning Persian Sarough is an exceptional quality museum piece.  This handmade vintage rug has what is known as a "Tree of Life" design, a swirling floral and vine design in intricate and abundant detail, full of bouquets and sprays in symmetrical patterns.  Hand-knotted in the 1960's by master weavers, this rug is still in mint condition, made with extremely fine wool made from the softest parts of the lamb, a high knot count for precise details (KPSI, knots per square inch) and superior craftsmanship and attention to detail.  The elegant floral designs rests on a burnt orange background with a violet blue frame before the ivory border.  The flowers are sapphire, ivory, burgundy, mint, sage, pale peach, carnation pink, shell pink, violet, walnut, and countless other colors, all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The ivory border lightens and brightens the rug and has a similar floral and vine pattern in which the colors really pop.  This rug is a true gem.   Size: 4'3"x6'7"
