This is a spectacular rug, a handmade fine quality vintage Persian Sarough with an extremely thick, dense and soft pile and the most brilliant colors.  Hand-knotted in the 1960s, this rug is in mint condition.  A traditional floral and vine design with a central medallion is beautifully hand-knotted on a rich strawberry red background with a stunning ivory border that lightens and brightens the rug and breathtaking azure blue corners that mirror the spectacular medallion at the center.  The flowers come alive in swirling leaf and vine motifs throughout the red open field in an amazing array of colors -- peach, coral, azure blue, violet, caramel, teal, fern green, charcoal, burgundy, royal blue and  countless other colors, all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The medallion sparkles in concentric layers of azure blue, ivory and royal blue, with elegant intricate details in all the colors of the rug. The ivory border has its own elegant repeating floral and vine motif with the same amazing colors, framed by rows of charming tiny pink flowers on cornflower blue ribbons.  This rug is made with fine quality wool and superb craftsmanship.
