This is a spectacular and very fine quality vintage Persian Sarough with intricate floral details and stunning colors. It was handmade in the 1980's and it is in mint condition.   Great for high traffic, this rug has a notably thick, soft, plush and sturdy pile that is cushy underfoot and will continue to last generations. The rug was hand-knotted by expert weavers in a classic design with a central medallion and matching corners and border.    The central medallion contains all of the color's of the rug - petals and flowers unfold in cornflower blue, ivory, watermelon pink, shell pink, deep rich royal blue and silver. This leads to the deep royal blue open field, resplendent with small  flowers on the vine in sprays and bouquets throughout the rug with accents in the same shades of the medallion, adding sapphire, charcoal and rosewood pink the palette.  The pink and ivory accents brighten and lighten the rug, leading to the gorgeous floral corners and watermelon border with an elegant larger floral, leaf and vine motif in the same colors of the rug, framed by thin ivory and cornflower blue rows of tiny flowers on the vine.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  Note there is abrash in one area, the natural variation in dyes that occurs in vintage handmade vegetable dye rugs.
