This is a beautiful vintage handmade Four Seasons design Persian Qum with garden and paisley motifs.  This is an extremely high quality rug made with fine wool, a high knot count for extremely precise details, excellent craftsmanship and stunning colors made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  This rug has a thick pile that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last generations. The Four Seasons design is a checkerboard pattern in which each square represents one of the four seasons.  The design is also described as windows to a garden, with views of the changing seasons through the trees and flowers.  This rug has wonderful and intricate floral and paisley images in a striking array of elegant and soft colors.  Azure blue, dusty rose, grass green, pistachio, rose, ballet slipper pink, crimson, fern green, wine, sapphire, moss green, mint green, periwinkle blue, coral, and countless other colors are used to create the highly detailed images. This rug was handmade in the 1970s and it is in mint condition.  Note that the rug has a fringe on one side and a solid edge on the other - this is not uncommon for Persian rugs.  Size: 4'5"x6'3"
