This is an extremely fine quality traditional vintage Persian Nain, handmade of silk and fine wool with a high knot count (KPSI, knots per square inch) and superior craftsmanship. It is a signed Habibian rug, handmade by a second generation famous weaver of Persian Nain rugs known for highest quality and the finest materials.  Habibian is often referred to as the father of Nain rugs.  The rug's exquisitely detailed floral and vine patterns surround the spectacular central medallion and fill the rug's field and borders with their intricate beauty. The lush midnight blue background is an elegant setting for the ivory medallion and complementary ivory border, both of which are adorned with perfectly symmetrical flowers, petals,   floral sprays and bouquets in Tiffany blue, sky blue, midnight blue, cornflower blue, pale silver, white and ecru. All colors are made of only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The rug is predominantly wool with fine silk accents.  Hand-knotted in the 1970s, this rug is in mint condition and sturdy enough to handle traffic.
