This is a phenomenal rug and a true collector's piece. It is an antique Persian Nain of the highest quality, made of the finest silk and Manchester wool, fine wool made from the softest parts of the lamb that was imported from England. It was hand-knotted by expert weavers in the 1910's and it is still in mint condition. This rug has an extremely high knot count (KPSI, knots per square inch), which accounts for the extraordinary details. The understated elegant, intricate floral design is a timeless classic, revolving around a spectacular central medallion. The colors, all made from vegetable and other natural dyes, are ivory, midnight blue, steel blue, pale peach, cranberry, hunter green, olive green, chestnut, and sapphire - a symphony in blue. This rug was likely made for royalty or aristocracy, and barely used. Its condition and full pile is extremely rare. Size: 7'10"x12'
