It is known as a "6 LA" (meaning 6 layer) because of the fineness of its knots. The rug's exquisitely detailed floral and vine patterns surround the central medallion and fill the rug's field and borders with their intricate beauty. The rich midnight blue background and the ivory medallion and borders are adorned in floral details in sapphire, azure blue, Carolina blue, moss green, taupe, pale shell pink, olive green, magenta, silver and countless other colors made of only vegetable and other natural dyes.
