This vintage fine quality Persian Nahavand runner was hand-knotted in the 1980s and is in mint condition.  The design is unique:  a repeating tribal paisley (known as boteh, an ancient precursor to the modern paisley) allover design backdrop with a series of beautiful flower medallions. The botehs repeat in alternating rows of salmon pink with periwinkle blue and Tiffany blue with salmon pink, along with rows of white botehs, as well. They rest in a honeycomb web, with intricate designs within and around each paisley.  Grass green, white, azure blue, yellow, rosewood pink, champagne and other colors create the intricate accents. The three elegant central flower medallions are in ivory and Tiffany blue, each one containing flowers within the flower design, using all of the colors from the boteh pattern.  The border is another decorative feature of the rug, a frame of ivory, which lightens and brightens the runner,  with a geometric garland in all of the colors of the rug, perhaps best showcased here against the ivory.  This in turn is edged with thin rows of salmon pink with charming colorful tiny flowers on the vine.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  This runner is perfect for high traffic areas and anywhere you want to add color and softness and style underfoot.  This rug has a soft pile that will last generations.  Size:  3'5"x13'1"
