This elegant and fine quality tribal handmade vintage Persian Nahavand paisley runner was hand-knotted in the 1980s by expert tribal weavers and is in mint condition.  The allover repeating paisley (known as boteh, an ancient precursor to paisley) design reveals a wonderful mix of colors as you get closer, much like a pointillist painting. The paisleys repeat in perfect rows across an inky midnight blue background.   Each boteh/paisley is made up of peach, royal blue, forest green and mint green, rosewood, walnut and white.  The border is a particularly beautiful element of this runner. The ivory frame lightens and brightens the rug, and its stunning geometric floral and vine design complements the runner perfectly, showcasing its beautiful colors against the lighter backdrop.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  This is a fine quality rug with fine knots for precise details. It is perfect for high traffic areas and will continue to last generations.  Nahavand is a village in Northwest Iran known for its fine quality rugs hand-knotted on floor looms. Size: 3'5"x10'6"
