This is a beautiful vintage handmade tribal & nomadic Persian Meshkin runner. Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this runner is made of fine quality wool with a soft full pile that is great for high traffic and will last generations. The runner is slightly distressed, with minor imperfections that make it a great bargain - see last photo for close up. The bold geometric medallions that run down the center of the runner are the focal point, with charming small details inside the diamond-like shapes as well as alongside them, dotting the soft red background with camel and gray flourishes. The medallions are hand-knotted in a fantastic array of colors. most notably a bright royal blue surrounding champagne, dusty rose and pale pink, with cocoa, sky blue and pale mint green along with other neutral and intriguing shades. All colors are made of only natural and vegetable dyes. The charming border of silvery white lightens the rug and reflects the interior pattern with a geometric repeat in olive green, pale pink, salmon and taupe, framed by thin rows of royal blue.
