This fine quality vintage handmade Persian Meshkin runner is bright and colorful, soft and supple and full of charming tribal animal and human motifs. It is a hard-to-find large size that is great for high traffic and will last generations. Hand-knotted by tribal village weavers in the 1980s, this runner is in mint condition and made with superior craftsmanship. The wool has a lustrous quality to it, and the dyes are all made from vegetables or other natural sources. The bold geometric medallion central pattern is orange and gold on a rich royal blue backdrop that has a sheen to it in the light. Interspersed with the large repeating pattern are golden deer or moose, along with a few human figures and other charming geometric motifs. Additional accent colors include salmon, mint green, yellow, rust, charcoal and silver. Throughout the rug's medallions and the open field, whimsical and colorful designs are sprinkled like candies. The border is a perfect frame with its three ribbons of gold and orange with small tribal accents. Size: 4'7"x13'11"
