This is a stunning top quality vintage Persian Mashad, hand-knotted in the 1980's and in mint condition.  This traditional floral and medallion rug design is from a region known for its unique and brilliant colors and incredibly detailed designs.  This rug is made from fine quality wool which makes for an incredibly thick, dense, soft and plush pile that is cushy underfoot and can handle high traffic. It will continue to last for generations.  The superior craftsmanship is evidenced by the fine details and high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch).  The intricate floral and vine design creates a rug that is bursting with flowers in full bloom on a rich pomegranate background with a deep blueberry border. The central medallion and matching corner detailing start with a Tiffany blue center, then a champagne layer, followed by blueberry, before the pomegranate open field.  Stunning accents of teal, coral, turquoise, fern and olive green, pale peach and white create a spectacular medallion of flowers within flowers. These same colors continue as abundant adornments of intricate floral and vine sprays and bouquets in countless other vivid colors, all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The blueberry border has its own complementary floral and vine garland pattern, framed by ribbons of Tiffany blue and white with colorful small flowers.  This is a rug where the photos truly don't do it justice!  Size: 9'10"x12'10"
