This is a spectacular quality vintage handmade traditional Persian Tabriz in mint condition. A true collector's piece, this rug was likely made for royalty or aristocracy and it is in mint condition. Made of the finest wool, known as Manchester wool, which comes from the softest parts of the lamb, the rug is smooth as silk. The rug has an extremely high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch), which makes for a truly magnificent piece of handmade artwork made from the finest materials and with superior craftsmanship. This elegant concentric medallion design is a timeless classic with exceptionally fine and delicate tiny flowers and other motifs (the curls represent fish, and the pattern is known as a "fish design") that repeat in cascading color combinations emanating from the center of the rug. The vivid colors are made from only natural and vegetable dyes. Each layer hosts infinite and eye-popping details in an endless array of colors - purples, pinks, turquoise and other shades of blue harmonize with large ivory sections in this classic Tabriz design. The details are so precise and abundant, you can get lost in them.
