This unique handmade vintage Kurdish runner was hand-knotted in the 1970s and is in mint condition.  This is a tribal runner, handmade by a nomadic people who have been weaving rugs for centuries in what is now western Iran. This runner has exotic animals in each corner which make for a really striking piece - are they wild cats, camels, or some other unknown beast?  Vibrant, colorful and tribal with a beautiful floral central medallion, intricate trellis-like details and an amazing geometric border. The array of details and colors in this runner will keep you engaged for hours -- the backdrop is a rich coral with the beautiful abrash, or natural variation in colors that occurs only in handmade vegetable dyed rugs.  The intricate motifs are woven in forest green, emerald green, moss and mint green, along with accents in peach, rose, pale yellow, rose pink, camel, ballet slipper and countless other colors, which are all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.   This runner is handmade with a full pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations.
